BigIndian works because neighbors trust each other. Six rules keep it that way.
This is the same community you'll meet at the temple, the cricket ground, and the grocery store. Disagree with ideas, never with people. Harassment, hate speech, slurs, or personal attacks get content removed and repeat offenders banned.
No sexual content, no violence or threats, no doxxing (posting someone's address, phone, or workplace without consent), no scams or phishing. One report is enough for us to act — objectionable content is removed and serious violations mean an immediate ban.
Buy/sell and housing posts must be real, yours to offer, and priced as stated. No MLM recruitment, no fake urgency, no bait-and-switch. Payment happens between neighbors — if a deal smells off, report it.
Post things once, in the right category. Businesses are welcome in Business Listings (coming soon) — not as disguised community posts. Rate limits are generous for humans and hostile to bots; that's intentional.
Every post, comment, event, and chat message has a Report option (in the app: long-press or the ⋯ menu). Reports go straight to the admin team and are reviewed within 24 hours. You can also block any member — their posts and comments disappear from your feeds immediately, no questions asked.
An AI moderator screens comments as you post them and may suggest a more constructive rewrite. It is deliberately lenient — final calls on reports are made by humans.
